Laura
Glazier is an artist who believes that everyone can
follow his or her own dreams. She works with budding,
experienced, and first-time students in her classes,
teaching them to become proficient and competent knitters.
As a graduate of the Moore College of Art with a degree
in Fine Arts in Textile Design, with a minor in Jewelry
Design, a Masters of Fine Arts from the RIT School of
American Craftsman in Textile Design Laura wove her
own cloth for many years. The extension to knitting
she feels is another form of off-loom weaving, something
that everyone can enjoy and master.
In 1986 Laura formed her own custom design jewelry
company, Precious One. Working with the client’s
ideas and wishes, Laura has designed many one-of-a-kind
pieces that continue to win awards for their originality
and quality.
Designing knitwear patterns is now the extension
of Laura’s skill as a weaver. Color, texture
and design make it possible for each knitter to
have their own custom-designed garment. Laura
will ply yarn to your specifications and using
her patterns you will have your own individual,
and with her techniques a perfectly tailored garment.

Recently, Laura has been commissioned by Vogue Knitting
to design a pattern for a cashmere-beaded scarf. This
design will be highlighted in the 2003 Fall Vogue Knitting
magazine. Combining the beading and knitting is a further
extension of Laura’s jewelry acumen and knitting
design.
